Tenure & Promotion Standards should be updated with best practices for promoting equity and CSU’s Principles of Community. Currently at CSU there is a lack of standardized practices and policies around tenure and promotion criteria related to research, teaching, and service. This Tool will serve as a guide for academic departments to improve tenure and promotion-related outcomes (e.g., perceptions of fair treatment during P&T processes, better retention rates, more successful P&T outcomes, more promotions earlier in eligibility window), especially for underrepresented identities.
