Toolkit: Mentoring Workload
Mentoring Workload: Mentoring students is a critical part of faculty work, but there are variable ways that mentoring workload is counted in workload distribution, resulting in dramatic inequities within and between departments in terms of how student mentoring by faculty is “counted.” Faculty across campus describe these inequities as problematic and unsustainable. This Tool will serve as a guide for academic departments and faculty to ensure consistent, equitable, and fair accounting for time spent mentoring students as part of faculty workload.
